Hotwire Hotel: 4* Dallas (North-Galleria) Le Meridien

:) I just booked 2 nights- July 12-14 for $61.00 per night. Amenities were the same as apparently all of the Dallas North Galleria hotels right now- pool, restaurant, business, internet. I was so hoping this was Westin Galleria or Intercontinental. It ended up being Le Meridien Dallas North.

I had not seen this hotel on the site at all- except under 3.5* so I did not expect it at all. Must admit I am a little disappointed. We are going for our anniversary and I am concerned about a 3.5* now being a 4*, not sure it will be what I am used to. However I am sure that everything will end up fine- hotwire has not let me down as of yet.

Also anyone booking beware that valet parking is required, according to the front desk clerk and subsequent reviews on other websites, there is NO other parking available. Valet is $18.00 per night!!!! That was VERY disappointing as I have now spent $79.00 per night for this hotel. Could have booked something a little closer to my activities for that amount!!

Welcome to BetterBidding!

Sorry to hear you're disappointed in the results. This property was 3.5* rated when it was the Prava Suites and was likely upgraded when Le Meridien recently took it over. Not sure what type of 4* property you could book in this area for $79/nite, but this hotel's direct rate for your nites is $124/nite, so your win is less than half price of the going rate.

I suspect your stay will go better than you expect... depending upon when the brand transition started there may still be a few kinks to work out, but the Le Meridien is a high-end brand and things in the hotel should be fairly new and attractive.

Thanks for the welcome, I am sure that the trip will be great, just a little disapointed in the unknown and some reviews that I read. I am sure that I sound a little bit like a hotel snob, I have just been pampered by Hotwire for quite a while.

I would not have gotten a 4* in that exact area for the same price- unless I booked another date range, then I could have gotten something cheaper, but that was not possible. We are going to be doing most of our activities in a suburb of Dallas, but the price was around $20 cheaper in North Dallas so that is what I went with. That is why I say I could have gotten closer for the same price. Oh well, I am a big girl, life's not perfect and my husband and I will enjoy each other no matter where we are. That is all that matters.

Thanks for your site!

Well, my husband and I had a wonderful time, unfortunately it was inspite of the hotel. The hotel was beautiful on the surface, but they cut MANY corners when remodeling.

So many issues arose so I will not go into all of it, but I will highlight the worst. If you have allergies to down feathers DO NOT stay here!! It took from 3:00pm to 12:00 midnight to have all of the down feather pillows and comforter removed from our room. Granted we were away from the hotel from 4:00-10:30, but there was extensive history on this issue before we ever arrived at the hotel. The service was awful, the housekeeping manager actually rolled his eyes and huffed at me when I told him we needed a non down comforter because my husband was seriously allergic to down feathers. They aparently do not have anything other than down in the hotel and so we slept on a bed with holes in the sheets and a small flimsy brown blanket. NOT comfortable- even though the bed itself was comfortable.

The bathrooms left much to be desired. The towels were horribly scratchy and there was evidence of mold damage around the ceiling of the tub/shower and around the tile of the tub/shower.

Valet was indeed $18. per night- quite expensive, and they "lost" my car when we checked out. It took 2 valet's and 10-15 minutes to "find" it. I will say that they did comp our valet charges because of all of the issues that arose during our stay and that was very nice. However I was just so glad to leave the hotel to get back to my bed for some actual rest that was not enough to get me to come back to this hotel no matter the price. I think that I will not be using Hotwire for Dallas North/Galleria again since I cannot guarantee which hotel I will be getting.

Realizing every trip is different, I just wanted to let people know our experiences at this particular hotel.
