mkmlaw Posted July 9, 2009 Report Posted July 9, 2009 I've been trying to get a 4* in downtown Seattle for 5 nights (from Aug 12 - Aug 17). I bid from $65 to $82 with no success. After checking HOTWIRE, what appears to be the Westin (based on Travelocity info) is available for $109 nightly. I'm going to wait and try PRICELINE again tomorrow before securing a room through HOTWIRE. Will update on results then.

mkmlaw Posted July 10, 2009 Author Report Posted July 10, 2009 Ended up getting my room using HOTWIRE and, as expected, got the Westin at $102 per night. Will post additional details on HOTWIRE forum.
mkmlaw Posted July 10, 2009 Author Report Posted July 10, 2009 After an unsuccessful attempt to get a sub $100 room for 5 nights on PRICELINE, I began tracking the 4* downtown hotel option available on HOTWIRE.Based on the tripadvisor ranking of 3.5 out of 5, and listed amenities of Fitness Center, Pool, Restaurant, Business Center and High-speed Internet, I felt confident I would get the Westin (which I preferred over the Sheraton). Price started mid-morning at $110 but fell to $102 by late afternoon. Final Stats:Rate: $102.00 Subtotal for 5 Nights: $510.00 Taxes and Fees: $81.76 Total price: $591.76 Used the HOTWIRE link as requested. Was very pleased with all of the information I was able to get from here before bidding/buying!
