ozeboy Posted July 9, 2009 Report Posted July 9, 2009 I booked the Nh Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky through PRICELINE today (07-09) for a 7 nights stay in 2 weeks time (07-24/07-31). Having read the reviews in the forum I thought that my initial $90 offer may be too low for a 5* hotel, but it was accepted at once, so I'm quite happy.Strategy:First bid - $90 ($719 inc. taxes)Area - Museum square and city centerHotel price on site - 131 EUR p/n = $1283 in total, so we saved 44% of the listed price (which is rather low for an Amsterdam 5 star hotel). The hotel is definitely very well located though its tripadvisor ranking (131) is rather low.

brianc_li Posted July 10, 2009 Report Posted July 10, 2009 Relax! It is a very nice hotel in arguably the best location in town. At $90 you have a bargain. Some of the rooms can be a bit small. If you are allocated one of these (which you shouldn't for a seven night stay) just ask for it to be changed.
TMill Posted July 10, 2009 Report Posted July 10, 2009 I stayed at "The Kraz" this past March on a Priceline bid of $75/night. Prices go up in summer. Excellent, excellent location for the hotel yet don't get too excited about the 5* rating. The hotel is very nice but no where near what we are accustomed to with that kind of rating, i.e. Hyatt Grand Regency. We negotiated a upgrade at check in and got one of the few rooms with a balcony so try to do some dealing. You shouldn't have any complaints about this hotel except for their extremely screwy way to get internet access in the room!! By the way, you can walk about 10 min from Central Rail station to the hotel.
