boferguson Posted July 9, 2009 Report Posted July 9, 2009 Trying to ID 3-star hotel in Downtown Montreal with the following info:Ammenities- Fitness, pool, restaurant, business center, high speed internetTrip advisor rating- 3 out of 5 based on 20 + reviews.Priced at $80 for travel 9/12/09 to 9/16/09.Thanks. Will use HOTWIRE link to book.
yellowdog Posted July 9, 2009 Report Posted July 9, 2009 The Days Hotel and Conference Center has been upgraded to 3* so this hotel would be my best guess. Please use the site's HOTWIRE link to start your purchase, and let us know how it goes.Yellowdog.
boferguson Posted July 9, 2009 Author Report Posted July 9, 2009 Thank you. That hotel won't work for me for location reasons, but I will still use the HOTWIRE link to make my final reservations. Thanks for the help!
boferguson Posted September 10, 2009 Author Report Posted September 10, 2009 Showing 4* for Montreal Downtown with:* Fitness* Restaurant* High-Speed Internetfor dates 9/12 to 9/16. Price is $106/night. Checked the boards and did not find a match yet. Can you assist? Also, same search came up with a 4.5*, which based on the boards, I assume to be the Lowe's. Any other 4.5* hotels in downtown Montreal? Thanks. It's a great service and I will book with the HOTWIRE link.
yellowdog Posted September 10, 2009 Report Posted September 10, 2009 Please keep all posts in the same thread since posts are for the same dates.I can't ID the hotel with the amenites listed for your search. But if you change your search to 2 adults + 1 child is there a 4* with/Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Smoke Free, Hi-Speed Internet, Business. This is a match for the previously reported Le Westin. Please list the amenities for the 4.5* hotel and we'll have a look at this.Yellowdog.Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.
boferguson Posted September 10, 2009 Author Report Posted September 10, 2009 Thanks for the response. I will make sure to stay in the same thread. The 4.5* hotel is: non-smoking, fitness, pool, restaurant, business center, wireless, spa. Also, I followed your advice to switch to a 2-adult, 1 child search and was surprised to see so many new results. The hotel came up that you predict to be the Westin. Can you educate me as to why this change in the search generates more options?I will book through your site's PRICELINE or HOTWIRE link, as I always do.Thanks!
thereuare Posted September 10, 2009 Report Posted September 10, 2009 I'm not currently seeing any 4.5* in the Montreal area when searching for your dates... are you still seeing this on your own current HOTWIRE search?Regarding the different properties appearing for different occupancy, HOTWIRE will only show one hotel at each star rating per zone (the hotel with the lowest rate is the offered). When a hotel offers a rate to HOTWIRE they can designate the maximum occupancy they will guarantee the room accomodates... if the hotel with the lowest rate only offers that property for double occupancy, switching to triple occupancy excludes that property, and therefore the property with the lowest rate (for triple occupancy) is then shown. (there are a few other scenarios, but the above is the most common and easy to explain)Thanks for using our PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
boferguson Posted September 10, 2009 Author Report Posted September 10, 2009 I used your HOTWIRE link and booked the 4* hotel for $113/night for 4 nights. It was in fact the Westin as you predcited. This is for conference travel, and it saved me almost $90/night off the conference rate. I also appreciated the explanation of how room occupancy can affect the offers, and will now know to check that in the future.I am no longer seeing the 4.5* option. It was there as of about 10 this morning, but now it's gone. No matter -- I am very happy at the Westin! Thanks again for a really revolutionary service! I will continue to place all my travel bookings through your links to HOTWIRE and PRICELINE.
AaronJB Posted September 10, 2009 Report Posted September 10, 2009 Congratulations on your success! Certainly a stellar deal for this newer Westin property.Thank you for sharing your results with the board and using the site's HOTWIRE link.Enjoy your stay.
