indians723 Posted July 8, 2009 Report Posted July 8, 2009 I am going to be in the Orlando area Sunday July 12 - 15 and I was looking for some information on where are some nice, cheap places to stay in the area. I won't be spending a lot of time in the room, so I don't want to spend an arm and a leg; however, I want to be able to enjoy the time I am spending in my room and not be bothered with noise, bugs, smells, etc...I have found some cheap hotels, but I wanted to see if priceline name your own price or hotwire was worth it. I hate not knowing what I am buying and not being able to get my money back.Thank you for all the help!

indians723 Posted July 10, 2009 Author Report Posted July 10, 2009 1. There will be 2 of us.2. We will have a car3. I don't want to spend more than 200 for 4 nights (7/11-7/15)4. I don't have a preference as to where to stay. I would like to stay closer towards Kissimmee, away from downtown.5. I have looked at a variety of hotels.6. We are going to be down there mainly for job interviews, but would like to visit Universal Studios if we get time.I found a listing on hotwire.com for a 2* West of Disney that has Restaurant, Business, Laundry, and Golf nearby. I think it is the Quality Inn Plaza near Universal, but I am not 100% sure. Do you know which one it is?
thereuare Posted July 10, 2009 Report Posted July 10, 2009 The West property above has not yet been identified, but if i can offer a suggestion...When buying an opque hotel don't look for the cheapest one, look for the best value in cost to star rating ratio. For example, the 2* you've asked about above is appearing for $25/nite on my search (your price may differ by a few dollars)Meanwhile there is a 3* hotel for just $5 more per nite ($30 on my search) with:Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Smoke Free, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Laundry and a Tripadvisor user rating of 4.0/5.0 with 580+ reviews. This a match for the Best Western Lakeside which for just $5 more gives you a BIG jump in star rating, you're more likely to be satisfied with the hotel, and you know that other users review it quite favorably due to the high TA rating of 4.0/5.0 (as well as it's in Kissimmee, the location you mention above)Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Does this property work for your needs?
