Priceline Hotel: NYc bidding assistance

I need to book three (3) rooms from 7/15-7/19. So far I had no luck with bids up to $135 for 4* in MTE, MTW, CPS, TSq., downtown and $115 for 3.5* in all similar zones except for downtown. The calendar shows several winning bids in the 90's range for 3.5*. Lowest price on hotwire for 3.5 is 139 in Chelsea; 4* is 159 in MTE.

Is the number of rooms a factor here? Any suggestions?

Welcome to the site. The number of rooms may be an issue. Rates are date-specific - unless the wins previously reported are for the same dates, then they are not comparable. Regular rates do also appear on the high side for these dates, so there may also be something going on on these dates, as well.

What would be your max bid per night? What combination are you searching for (in terms of the amount of people in the rooms) on HOTWIRE? (as I'm not seeing the 4* for $159.)

my bid attempts failed again after multiple tries in the pat two days. Max bid per night for all Manhattan zones:

4* - 135

3.5* - 115

3* - 105 (Hotwire has 115/night for a downtown/soho hotel with a gym, restaurant and in-room wifi)

The calendar shows quite a few winning bids for same date range of 7/15-7/18, eg $96 for 3.5*, $110 for 4*

Maybe the number of rooms (3) and length of stay (Wednesday through Sunday) are an issue here?

-All smoke-free guest rooms

I'm not seeing the Downtown hotel above when searching for your dates (3rooms/6adults) but these amenities match previous reports for the Hotel Reserve so that would be my best guess.

I'd also have a look at the 3.5* Times Square property with Boutique, Complimentary Breakfast, Pool, Business, Spa icos which is a match for the Room Mate Grace which has a good location and generally gets very good reviews.
