sandytony Posted July 7, 2009 Report Posted July 7, 2009 This was the last segment of my Florida trip that I needed to book today. Below are my results for a 3.5* hotel in Orlando Airport zone:Check-in: July 16, 2009Check-out: July 18, 20092 adultsBid #1: Orlando Airport (Zone 5) - Bid $43.00 - Bid rejectedBid #2: Zone 5 and Kissimmee (Zone 3) - Bid $44.00 - Bid rejectedBid #3: Zone 5 and Orlando East (Zone 6) - Bid $45.00 - Bid rejectedBid #4: Zone 5 and Sand Lake Corporate Park (Zone 7) - Bid $46.00 - Bid rejectedBid #5: Zone 5 and West Disney Area (Zone 9) - Bid $48.00 - Bid rejectedBid #6: Zone 5 and Winter Garden (Zone 10) - Bid $50.00 - Bid accepted for the Crowne Plaza Orlando AirportInterestingly enough last week my bids for the Hyatt (at MCO) and the Marriott Orlando Airport were both accepted at $43.00 (1 night stay each). My concerns about the Crowne Plaza are the negative reviews I've read. The Crowne Plaza also appears to be on the low end of the $$. (In reality I only saved $30.00 from the lowest per night price available.) However, the $$ savings compared to booking on a hotel's website may be substantial. At this point, I would do this again. However, when I return I will review the hotels I stayed at-only then will I really be able to evaluate if the $$/per night were worth the money. I do understand that there is a risk/reward when bidding on PRICELINE - so this has been a learning experience for me. Thanks to everyone who helped with all my bidding strategy.Sandy
