Priceline Hotel: First time bidder

I am a newbie at this. How far out from the vacation date would you suggest starting the Hotel bidding process. IS a $100 bid for a 4* unheard of for NYC times square area in January? What has your experience been with NYC. Is PL 4* the same as the regular hotel rating?

As for your specific stay, please post your specific dates in the NEW YORK >> PRICELINE forum and we will address specific pricing for your stay there... rates are date specific so general rates for January may or may not apply to your specific stay.

Also, no need to post in both priceline and hotwire... when a user is up in the air we put it in the Priceline section and if Hotwire is ultimately used then we'll move the thread accordingly.

When bidding 4* in NYC you have 2 re-bid zones avaiable. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read PRICELINE RE-BIDDING EXPLAINED and feel free to ask any questions that you may have. You should also feel free to confirm your re-bid zones with the board to make sure you got it right and avoid any potential mistakes.

This is how i would proceed:

Select 4* MTW and...

Bid $100, if rejected add MTE and...

Bid $105, if rejected add UM/CPS and...

Bid $110, if rejected add MTS and...

Bid $115, if rejected add re-bid zone and...

Bid $120, if rejected add re-bdi zone and...

Bid $125.
