hcesarz Posted July 7, 2009 Report Posted July 7, 2009 Used your link. bid $88 for 5* Berlin East 9-6-09 to 9-13-09 rejected. Rebid and added tiergarten at $89 rejected. Any suggestions? Am I trying too soon for September reservation?
thereuare Posted July 7, 2009 Report Posted July 7, 2009 It may be too early, but...As i suspect you were trying to mimic this pricleine win at the Berlin Hilton, checking hotel direct rates for that users purchase, rates start at $155/nite... checking rates for your own dates start at $370/nite, indicating much higher demand for your own stay.I didn't look to see if it would help, but is SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID an option? What is the best rate you're able to find thru conventional booking channels at an acceptable hotel for this stay? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. TBQ Posted July 18, 2009 Report Posted July 18, 2009 There is a big medical conference (immunologists) starting up in Berlin on the weekend before September 13th, so that may be tying up rooms at the latter end of the OP's desired date range (this may explain that $370 rate).
larrylaffer Posted July 21, 2009 Report Posted July 21, 2009 Are you prepared to go down a level? I have previously stayed in the 3.5 star Courtyard Marriott and it was a fantastic property with good transport links and it only cost $55 per night :) so maybe you could consider whether that property is something to aim for?
