melissadfw Posted July 6, 2009 Report Posted July 6, 2009 I've bid up to $86.00 for any 4* in the Jersey City area with no luck. What I havn't done is add different zones. I'm worried it I add a 4* in other zones (Ewr airport or Saracrus) I will get stuck with a hotel outside of Jersey City. Do you think this is the only way to get something in my desired Jersey City area ?
thereuare Posted July 6, 2009 Report Posted July 6, 2009 Are you familiar with re-bidding and how to determine your re-bid zones? If not, see Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and ask any questions you have and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board (you currently have SIX of them when bidding 4* in Jersey City) before proceeding. If you're confused by the previous link, just post back and we'll break it down further for you one step at a time. What is your maximum bid for a 4* hotel in this zone? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. melissadfw Posted July 6, 2009 Author Report Posted July 6, 2009 I don't want to go over $90.00 for these dates. Thanks for the link for the rebid info. I will try this and see what happens.
thereuare Posted July 6, 2009 Report Posted July 6, 2009 Let us know if you have any questions regarding re-bidding and/or confirm your zones with the board.I do think you have a good chance at $90 or under, if not, then $95 or less if you're willing to go the extra $5.Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how it goes. melissadfw Posted July 12, 2009 Author Report Posted July 12, 2009 I got a winning bid for a portion of my stay. Got 08/17/09 to 08/19/09 at $90.00 for the Weston in Jersey City. Tried again for the first two dates of 08/15/09 to 08/17/09 and bid up to $90.00 but got a failed bid. I think I might have to increase bid to get a win on this. :)
