This is just a continuation of the other threads, but hopefully in a more proper format. To quickly rehash, does anyone have any ideas for finding a suite in the Union Square area from 8/10-8/12? I realize PL only guarantees standard rooms, but if anyone has any ideas (via other sites), I'd certainly appreciate it. We'd like to keep our nightly rate to below $200/night.

Hey lanesway - Grosvenor Suites is a good choice. The location is excellent, the views are really nice and you'll get some extra space. The breakfast is decent - clearly continental but the ladies who work there are nice. It's not incredibly luxurious, but a definitely a good value. Have a great trip.

Yeah, the only thing we're worried about is some of the reviews noted the rooms don't have a/c. But everytime I've been to SF in the summertime, it's been on the cool side, so hopefully it won't be a problem. And thanks again for the tip- we're paying $109/night, which I think is a great value for what we get (separate bedroom, free wireless, free breakfast).

(Incidentally, the dates are actually 8/8-8/10, not 8/10-8/12 at the title suggests. Sorry.)

Really rare to need AC in SF. It happens, but not very often. In 10 years of my living there/visiting often for work, it's only been hot enough once, and a good fan would have sufficed. BTW - Very convenient location for cable cars. The FW line will be busy, but you can also walk up to Calif & Powell and take the California line down to the Embarcadero. Much less crowded and great views along the way ....
