moniquejj Posted July 5, 2009 Report Posted July 5, 2009 I'm heading to Boston on Thursday, July 10 (with my husband and our two teens) and staying until next Tuesday July 14. I've been hoping to win a hotel in the Cambridge area. I chose Cambridge because it looks like there are several hotels in that area that feature suites and complimentary breakfasts. We can manage in a standard hotel room, but we'd really love a suite for the extra space. Over the past few months, people have posted wins of $58, $58, $60, $66, $70 and $75 for 3.5* Doubletree Suites and Hyatt Regency in Cambirdge. I chose to bid for 3* so I had a shot at a few Residence Inns in that area. On Friday morning I bid $55, then added Fenway Park (a free zone) and bid $65. Didn't win. On Saturday morning I bid $70 and $75. Still no luck. Am I doing something wrong? We'll be doing some day trips to Salem and the ocean, so I figured we don't need to be in the downtown area--would I be better off in a suburb? It's coming down to the wire, so I'd love some advice before I place another bid. Thanks!
AaronJB Posted July 5, 2009 Report Posted July 5, 2009 Welcome to the site.PRICELINE does not guarantee 2 beds - is that going to be a problem, given 4 people in the party? With HOTWIRE, you can search for 4 people and have some sort of bedding (generally 2 beds, but could mean 1 bed + 1 sofabed) for everyone in the party guaranteed. Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links.
