I get this page: "THANK-YOU FOR YOUR REQUEST In most cases, we'll be able to tell you whether or not you got your hotel room within 15 minutes. We're still working on your hotel room request, and should have an answer for you soon. You can also get your answer at any time by clicking on the "Check Your Requests" button at the top of the priceline.com home page."And eventually is comes back saying it ".... We're sorry but we were unable to authorize your credit or debit card and could not process this request..." I have tried to cards both good and working yet they this rejection is reoccuring. Have used Priceline dozens of times, never encountered this glitch before.Might I be flagged for some reason? Reason Unknown.
thereuare Posted July 5, 2009 Report Posted July 5, 2009 Welcome to BetterBidding!The "we'll have an answer for you in 15 minutes" is PRICELINE's "old" system, which they somtimes revert back to when there is any issue with the "new" system... this could be a simple server backlog, communication issue (either between PRICELINE and hotel suppliers or with credit card verification, etc, etc) which gives them more time to process the request. I'm guessing there might be a communication issue with PRICELINE verifying your credit card, so i would give it a few hours and then try again, if hte propeblem persists i'd call your credit card company to see if there is any hold/issue on your account, and also see if they see any attempt at a charge from PRICELINE. Of course, this is also asusming you haven't done anything 'funny' with your account in an attempt to game the system.Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let u know what you ultimately get or if we can be of further help. Ok, I am going to try another family members credit card and see what happens. This glitch has happened every time for the last 7 days (about 4 attempts to bid) Thanks for responding! Reason Unknown
Reason Unknown Posted July 8, 2009 Author Report Posted July 8, 2009 As I was unable to fix my credit card problem....I asked a relative to bid and purchase a room for me on Priceline and unfortunately they did not bid properly (as we all should!!) using the BetterBidding links to Priceline that support this outstanding and useful message board!..... but I still wanted to report the purchase for you all: Delta Chelsea $50 a night, started bidding at $50 and got room on first bid! Perhaps I should have started at $40 (Toronto has so many free rebid zones!).
