thereuare Posted July 3, 2009 Report Posted July 3, 2009 The Sheraton Suites Plantation has previous been reported with this amenity combination, but at the 3.5* level. Given the 'match' and the TA info, i'm going to guess that this property has been downgraded to the 3* level since last reported (in February of this year). Can't say with any high degree of confidence, but that would be my best guess for this one. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. desmonsm Posted July 5, 2009 Author Report Posted July 5, 2009 I ended up just booking a room at the Hyatt Place - Plantation through Hyatt's website. I wasn't wild about the Sheraton Suites Plantation because they don't offer a shuttle to/from the airport, and the taxi each way is approximately $40. Factoring this in the price would be higher than the price I paid on my own for the Hyatt ($109 after tax). I also looked at Priceline at the 3* properties in the Weston/Plantation area. There are 4 - the Hyatt, 2 Marriottt Courtyards and another property. I could get a room at one of these properties for $42 before taxes/fees, but again only the Hyatt offers the shuttle service.I read on another post here that someone got the Hyatt Place Plantation for $42/night for late December of this year, but I didn't want to take the chance. I can cancel the reservation if I start seeing others get the Hyatt Place on Priceline for a better rate than I paid. This site is great, and I'll continue to frequent it and keep it in mind the next time I need to make a reservation.BTW, I have enough Hyatt points for a free night at a Hyatt Place property, but I was told there were no points rooms available during my stay (October 31st).
