kermit_frog Posted July 3, 2009 Report Posted July 3, 2009 I'm trying to get a 4* hotel at Times Square, Midtown East, Midtown West, and Central Park South from Sep 21, 2009 to Sep 24, 2009. According to the board it should be possible to get a room at least at CPS and MTE for 130$, right? I started at a low 110 all the way up to 130, combining different areas so that I ended up with the mentioned ones, unsuccesful though... I think the selected dates is kind of unlucky; priceline shows a median retail price of 453$ (Orbitz offers similar high prices) (at other dates it's down to 200$). What's going on in NYC around that time?! What do you suggest - waiting or trying to get it for eg. $170?Thanks for your advice

thereuare Posted July 3, 2009 Report Posted July 3, 2009 According to the board it should be possible to get a room at least at CPS and MTE for 130$, right? Not necessarily, rates are date specific, and if rooms are in high demand for these dates, and rates higher than usual, then it will require a higher than usual bid to be accepted as well. What do you suggest - waiting or trying to get it for eg. $170?With the current economy i wouldn't chase anything in NYC this early before your stay, but i would be prepared to pay more than $130 (and possibly more than $170) for this stay if you have your sights set on a 4* property. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.
