mtrocker Posted July 2, 2009 Report Posted July 2, 2009 Hi to all!I made bids for one room/two people for a 4-star hotel in (Cincinnati) Downtown-Riverfront through the PRICELINE link here starting at $50. I added areas (first Airport and then University Heights) and upped my bid to $55 and then $59. I didn't think this would be a risk because the only 4-star hotels listed were in the downtown area. I ended up with the hotel I wanted (The Westin) at an excellent price. :) I had previously went to HOTWIRE to look. They had a 3.5* hotel (Fitness center, Pool, restaurant, Business Center, Laundry, High Speed Internet) identified as the Millenium because of the laundry amenity for $59 for the three nights and an unidentified 4* hotel (Fitness center, Pool, restaurant, Business Center, High Speed Internet) could be Westin or Hilton Netherland Plaza for $77 for the three nights. I plan to go to the Cincinnati Zoo on Friday and then take in the three day series of the Cincinnati Reds vs the St. Louis Cardinals (a Friday night game and day games Saturday & Sunday) with fireworks downtown on Saturday night! P.S. My friend booked a room at the Westin through Expedia for $109 per night for the same period. :)
