thereuare Posted October 21, 2004 Report Posted October 21, 2004 Read my thought on Vegas and the opaque services: LAS VEGAS the one area i don't use Priceline or Hotwire.However, if you're trying for a 5* property then the opaque services are great. However, i don't think you're going to see a good deal until inside of three months of your stay... probably closer to two months. Even with the current HOTWIRE COUPON for $10/per nite added to your stay, i think you'll save more than $10 per nite by waiting... it's just one of the idiosyncrasies of the Las Vegas hotel market.As you probably know as well, typical Sun-Thur nites are much cheaper than Friday and Saturday nites, so if possible i would plan your trip for a mid-week stay. Conventions also affect rates in Vegas, so you may want to browse the LAS VEGAS CONVENTION CALENDAR to get an idea where to start your search for the best dates.If for some reason you'd rather take care of this now rather than later post back and we'll advise further.
