After using the PRICELINE link from this forum, I've been trying several cars at $9-10. After a failed bid yesterday, I was offered a midsize for $14, which I refused. Finally accepted an economy today at $12, & was then offered an upgrade to a compact for $2 more per day, or intermediate for $3 more, or standard/full size for $5 more.

Total with taxes and fees was $136. Priceline says that's a 69% savings based on a "list" price of $447 w/ fees (which match what I saw on Travelocity and National's site).
