Hotwire Hotel: Downtown Quebec 3 * hotel ID

Hi, I am searching a hotel in Downtown Quebec for my family (me, husband and my young daughter). This is going to be my first trip to Quebec so I really look forward a nice stay in this beautiful city and try to find a nice hotel that is as close to old Quebec as possible.

Last two days I got a result with 3* hotel in Downtown Quebec showing fittness, business center, restaurant and golf , with a rating of 4 our of 5 based on 120+ reviews. the price was $95. There is a post from someone that asked to identify this hotel but nobody could. I was hesitating to book this one as I think as it mentioned close to Golf, it probably would be a little far from the old city.

Today I got a new hotel result which is very confusion;

When I search with 2 adults & 1 child, comes with a 3* star in downtown and the amenities of Fittness and Restaurant only. No TA rating reference available and the price is $103 ;

When I search with 2 adults and 2 children, same information is poped up except the price drops down to $99.

The period searching is 8/24/09 -8/27/09.

Any help of hotel guessing with the above information given would be appreciated. why is the price cheaper when more people?

My priority in Quebec staying is to close the old quebec as much as possible, with two beds in a cleaning hotel. Prefer 3* plus. Thanks

HOTWIRE uses a variable mark-up in their pricing, so chances are that their price is the same for both the 2adult/1child offer as well as the 2adult/2child offer, but the mark-up they are applying is slightly different which accounts for the $3/nite difference.

I'm sure what the above property is, but if you change your search to 3adults/1child a different 3* hotel for $114/nite is shown with:

Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet

for which my best guess would be the Best Western City Centre.

Not sure how close this is to the location you're targeting... would this work for your needs?

I am still looking... I feel I don't like to stay in these two 3* hotels as it looks like a little far from the old part..

If I search with 2 adults only, I will have more options for 4* and 3.5*, unlike only 3* hotel if search with 2 adults &1 child. The 3.5* showing Fitness Center / Pool /Restaurant/Business Center/High-speed Internet Access, TA rating 3.5 out of 5 based on 60+ reviews, looks like a match for Delta.

If I am right and book this 3.5 * hotel, How much possibility will this hote provide two beds since I have to book with 2 adults only? - I understand it is not guarranteed but any opnions based on your experience with this hotel?

I couldn't offer any insight as to whether the hotel will grant your request for a room with two beds or not... it depends upon so many factors (hotel occupancy level, mood of clerk upon check-in, time of day of check-in, etc).
