Damzkie Posted June 29, 2009 Report Posted June 29, 2009 Hi all,First of all: i'm new to this forum, and with all the topics that I found here I've learned abit about PRICELINE and how to make good use of it. I'm looking for a trip to NYCity from 20 February to 25 Feb. 2010. I've already make bids on 3 star hotels, but I don't know if i am even close to the right price. I'd like to go to one of the following zones:10: Times sq9: Midtown West2: Central Park South7: MSG8: Midtown EastTried the zones in this order (bid):9 (75)9/10 (80)9/10/2 (80)9/10/2/7 (85)9/10/2/7/8 (85)Can anyone help me with placing a better bid or using a better strategy? Thanks!Gijs from The Netherlands
thereuare Posted June 30, 2009 Report Posted June 30, 2009 Welcome to BetterBidding!Even though February is likely to be a very slow time for hotels in NYC, $85 is not usually enough for a 3* hotel in Manhattan. What is the best rate you're able to find thru conventional booking channels? What is your maximum bid for this stay? Are you looking to get this completed soon or are you not really concerned about booking this now? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. Damzkie Posted June 30, 2009 Author Report Posted June 30, 2009 The best rates for 3 star + hotels in one of the areas around Times Sq. (not such a big issue to be ON Times Sq. itself though) I'm seeing in a quick scan are 97
thereuare Posted June 30, 2009 Report Posted June 30, 2009 Is $140 your "all-in" rate or maximum bid rate?Let us know your maximum bid price and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow for a hotel in any of the following zones:Times sqMidtown WestCentral Park SouthMSGMidtown EastAlso, are you interested in paying more for a higher rated hotel, or is your goal the least expensive 3* or better property in any of the zones above? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.
