JeffSC Posted June 29, 2009 Report Posted June 29, 2009 My brother and I stayed at the Affinia Manhattan on June 17 for one night. We got it on Priceline for $95 plus taxes and insurance. The hotel was great, and the location was right across the street from Penn Station. The one point I'd like to make to Priceline buyers is that you will get a room with one double bed. If you are looking for a room with two beds, you will be charged an additional $80. I did talk them down to $30.
AaronJB Posted June 29, 2009 Report Posted June 29, 2009 Congratulations on your success!Glad you were pleased with your stay and the location of the hotel. PRICELINE doesn't guarantee 2 beds at any hotel via bidding, and it's up to each hotel whether to simply honor requests for beds, charge extra for 2 beds (not uncommon in a place like NYC, where 2 beds go for a premium) or not accept any requests for 2 beds at all. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.

There seems to be some confusion on these boards over whether Priceline booked rooms are "unadvertised" rooms w/o kitchenettes.
thereuare Posted June 29, 2009 Report Posted June 29, 2009 This hotel review is old but the user won the hotel thru PRICELINE and according to the review did have a Kitchen. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
JeffSC Posted June 29, 2009 Author Report Posted June 29, 2009 JeffSC, do you know if your original 1-bed room have a kitchenette? There seems to be some confusion on these boards over whether Priceline booked rooms are "unadvertised" rooms w/o kitchenettes.Yes it did have a kitchen. I asked if a rollaway could be brought into our room that had only one bed and they said that the room was too small. The room we did get was very large, very nice and even though we had to pay $30 more we still got it on Priceline for $95. Getting anything for that price in Manhattan is unheard of. As mentioned prior, when you book with Priceline you are not guaranteed much of anything so if you have requests like certain size beds or non smoking, call the hotel and give them your confirmation number which is on your Priceline receipt. Some hotels are more flexible than others. We also stayed in Philly and Boston and had no problem getting a room with two beds.
