GoJo Posted June 28, 2009 Report Posted June 28, 2009 I've been looking at Hotwire's offerings in Vancouver in early August and saw they have a 5* Vancouver West listed. I know my dates are the end of a three-day weekend in BC. From the icons, I've deduced it's the La Grande Residence at the Sutton Place Hotel. I got all excited because the price was only $123...but that was last Thursday. Today it jumped to $158 (Saturday). So, those of you who know these things, will the price go down this mid-week, or should I pounce now before the price goes up again or the listing disappears completely?Thank you!GoJo
yellowdog Posted June 28, 2009 Report Posted June 28, 2009 In general, there is no easy answer to your question. But HOTWIRE doesn't increase prices over the weekend. I belive that the higher price is a effect from higer revenue for your dates and maybe the three-day weekend got something to do with this. For more information read this link: Should i Bid Early or Close to Arrival Date Just post if you need further help.Yellowdog.
GoJo Posted July 1, 2009 Author Report Posted July 1, 2009 Help ID - Vancouver 4* Downtown WestIcons: Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Restaurant, Business center, High-speed Internet$116./nightThought it was the Listel, but there's no Boutique icon. The Hyatt, Sheraton, Marriott, Renaissance, and Bayshore all have pool icons, unless something's changed.Thank you! :)
yellowdog Posted July 1, 2009 Report Posted July 1, 2009 I can't get a match for this hotel. Might be a new hotel or an allready reported hotel with alternate amentie combo. But if you change your search to 3 adults. Is there a new 4* that appear with Restaraunt, Pool, Fitness, Smoke Free, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Tennis, Spa. $131, TA info:4/5 180 reviews. This is a match for the Westin Bayshore so that would be my best guess. Please use the site's HOTWIRE link to start your purchase, and let us know how it goes.Yellowdog.
GoJo Posted July 4, 2009 Author Report Posted July 4, 2009 With taxes, $135.08.Amenities listed:Boutique, Fitness Ctr., Pool, Restaurant, High-speed Internet, Kitchenette, SpaPlayed around with PL, but it looked like I was going to have to bid $101. for the Hyatt, so for $10 more, thought I'd try something new. The Terminal City looks very nice. Also, while I was nosing around on PL, the HW price for this hotel went up $5. It started out this morning at $106.Used BB link. Question: If the HW site closes me out because I'm taking too long, do I need to come back here and re-link for BB to get the credit? Thanks for all the advice!
