JanetNC
Note to PL bidders: The new Grand Bohemian makes for an interesting couples getaway, but is not family-friendly. The King standard room is small and double-bedded rooms limited. No pool, no fridge, only one expensive dining room. Hotel buildings are surrounded by very busy roads and near train tracks. Decor channels a European hunting lodge with funky touches; purple crystals hanging from antler light fixtures, elevator upholstered in animal skin, curtains instead of bathroom doors, etc. With many Asheville residents environmentally sensitive and vegetarians, the stuffed animals and numerous antlers are rather incongruous. 4* luxury touches make the GB a great new PL option for a couple, but due to lack of space and bathroom privacy, there are better choices for families. Also, do not think quiet rustic mountain lodge for the GB is quite urban and noisy, but with good restaurants nearby, e.g. Rezaz, fig, and a Starbucks. Suggest before bidding to read TripAdvisor reviews and the hotel's website to determine if this funky lodge vibe would meet your needs in Asheville. Link to comment
