Priceline Hotel: 3* Atlanta (Downtown) Renaissance

Start out at 45 for 4 star like earlier bidder didn't get it. Increase price to 52 and added 3 star. I could have waited before lowering the rating but I chickened out. I have a conference downtown atlanta 10/26-29 and got scared. The conference is at the Hyatt Regency and the conference rate is 93.00 a night before taxes. So, I saved $41.00 a night almost half price. So, I am very pleased with the bid.

I mapquested the distance between the 2 hotels and it is only 2 minutes apart. We may either be able to walk it or take Marta? Can anyone compare the two hotels?

Am i correct that this is a 3* property? (you were not upgraded on your bid?)

I understand your reluctance to waiting until the last minute so you didn't want to wait the 72 hours to try again, but you may want to give this thread a read as well: If you lower your star rating, then lower your bid amount.

I don't know if the Renaissance is a 4* or 3*. But I will make certain next time that I lower my bid rather than increasing it. Also, trip advisor gave some awful reviews on this hotel. I hope its not as bad as listed.

If you look at the link in your winning bid email you will be able to see if Priceline rates this as a 3* or 4* property.

I looked at the REVIEWS adn they didn't seem that bad. There were a few from a year ago that were negative, but the more recent ones seemed 'average' to 'good'.
