LKHomemail Posted June 25, 2009 Report Posted June 25, 2009 Hi Was wondering if anything be done to ask Priceline some questions re: Hotel Indigo ? This "Schaumburg North" zone is incorrect in location / was recently changed. I think they should change it back. I'm sure the hotel had enough weight to get this done. IMO, it is misleading to consumers. This hotel is not anywhere close to a 3 star hotel. Can customers request that the re evaluate this ? Not sure that they will respond to one request, but, if other members think appropriate perhaps over time they will change the rating to be more accurate or it will force the hotel to raise the standards. Fix things that are broken and get an exterminator service. Other than the major facilties issues, the hotel would be acceptable. Overall, the staff is very good. When using priceline bidding in Schaumburg, and you want to avoid 3 star properties (Hotel Indigo), does anyone know if you can , select either 2 stars or 3.5 stars only ? If you select a 2star will it "UPGRADE" you to a 3 star / possibly Hotel Indigo ? If you select a 3.5 star is there anyway that priceline will offer you the 3 star ? If you bid higher in $$ in a 3 star , does that mean that you will possibly get another 3 star other than Indigo , or just pay more for Indigo ? Was wondering if there are price teirs within the software of priceline in addition to the star teirs ? I thought I read here in one of the tutorial posts that the $$ has nothing to do with the choice one is awarded. Just thought I would clarify with the experts.I may have to change my zones for next hotel to avoid this hotel. Alternatively, I may have to learn how to use the hotwire product.
thereuare Posted June 25, 2009 Report Posted June 25, 2009 If you're not happy with a hotel, or you had a positive experience with a property, you can give PRICELINE your feedback and this information is used to further adjust their star rating. However, i woudn't expect too much in regards to this particular property, as your opinion seems to differ from the masses who generally rate this property favorably. Both PRICELINE and HOTWIRE are designed for users that are flexible in their plans and willing to accept any hotel in the zone that they bid at the minimum star level (or higher) that they select. If there is a hotel at the star level you select (or higher) in the zone that you're trying to avoid, then go with HOTWIRE where you have a little more control over targeting/avoiding a specific property, or book a room direct. For your other questions, start with this thread (i believe the one you were refering to): Don't Bid Higher For a Specific Hotel which explains a little about how which hotel is awarded when you bid.As well, the star rating you select is the minimum you are willing to accept... so your 2.5* bid could be upgraded to a higher rated hotel (such as 3*, 3.5*, etc) but your 3.5* would never results in your being awarded a 3* hotel (as determined/defined by PRICELINE) since the 3* rating is lower than the minimum 3.5* threshold that you selected. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. LKHomemail Posted June 26, 2009 Author Report Posted June 26, 2009 I could live with everything but those ants/silverfish bugs. I paid very little money , so , I am satisfied with the transaction. However, going forward, I wouldn't stay at this hotel. I would try their hotels in other areas. This location was just too rough of a property for them to have bought and tried to upgarde. No amount of paint / furnishings can bury the memory of the former hotel. THANK YOU very much for sharing your thoughts and experience.
