Muttlee Posted October 18, 2004 Report Posted October 18, 2004 Hi Y'all:There's a 3* condo in the WDW area for $70 for 12/4-12/11. Amenities include Kitchenette, Restaurant(s), Pool(s), Fitness Center, Children's Activity Program, Tennis Nearby. The closest match I found on Hotwire hotel list is 3* Sheraton
thereuare Posted October 19, 2004 Report Posted October 19, 2004 Welcome to BetterBidding! This hotel has not yet been identified, but i would lean towards saying that it is not likely the Sheraton. Is there a specific amenity that you're looking for... as this hotel doesn't seem like a great value. Their are other similarly rated hotels that are less expensive and other hotels that are similarly prices but much higher rated.PS- do you have a static version of your aviatar? we try to discourage animated .gifs <thanks> Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
Muttlee Posted October 19, 2004 Author Report Posted October 19, 2004 I was looking for a suite w/ nice pool. I identified (from excellent Hotwire hotel list) 4* hotel as the Crowne Plaza Universal at $112 ($155 at Expedia), another 4* as Wyndham Palace at $76 ($107 at Expedia), a 3 1/2* as Crowne Plaza MCO at $59 and 3 1/2* as DoubleTree Club Orlando at $77 ($89 at Expedia). There were three condos listed (Kissimmee, WDW & Universal area) that I couldn't identify. Any suggestions?I'm leaning toward Residence Inn Seaworld (ranked 6th on TripAdvisor) at $108 (govt. rate). Get a suite, nice pool, breakfast buffet, fish within walking distance. A non-bargain compromise (as compared w/ CP MCO).Thanks!
thereuare Posted October 19, 2004 Report Posted October 19, 2004 I haven't stayed at any of those specific properties, but as a chain i would think that the Residence Inn is the least regarded, it also seems like your most expensive option. If you go with one of the lesser expensive options you can easily buy your own breakfast (hot and cooked to order) for less than the nightly price difference.Although the individual reports on TripAdvisor is very helpful, all reviews must be taken in context. As an example, there could be a Ritz Carlton that is not up to par with customer's expectations for a $300+/nite hotel room and it gets poor reviews. Then you could have a Residence Inn that sells for $25/nite and although it isn't much, customers don't expect much either, and they're very happy with their hotel experience. Given the above scenario... the Residence Inn will rank higher than the Ritz Carlton... yet almost everyone would take the 'bad' Ritz Carlton over the 'good' Residence Inn.Personally, when i rate hotels it's relative to the value i've received. I have stated in hotels that i thought were amazing for the priceline price i paid and have written a very positive reviews... if i had been paying rack rate my experiences, and reviews, would have been very different. Muttlee Posted October 30, 2004 Author Report Posted October 30, 2004 I opted to spend three days in Orlando then head up to Jax for the rest of the week. Got the Disney Hilton (resort) via Priceline 12/4-12/7 @ $70. Thanx for the help!
