I used the HOTWIRE link. I've always got great hotels with this website. We'll see. After googling, found out that this is where the "Curvaceous Cuties" hang out. :) I'll drive by, but if it looks scary I'll press on through the night to Lake Placid.

I should have tried the PRICELINE, but I'm hoping for the best. I will put out plenty of reviews after the trip.

It looks like this used to be the "family-run" Cocca's Motel, now with a brand name on it. According to the Cocca's website, the "exterior" rooms are recently remodeled, tho I think all the rooms are exterior rooms.

Might not be as bad as you expect. It's in a good location for access to I-87, plus food and some shopping.

If you get stuck, there are plenty of low-ish priced hotels/motels right nearby. You may be able to get a walk-up Entertainment Card or rest-stop travel magazine rate at many of them.
