hawaiihoney Posted June 24, 2009 Report Posted June 24, 2009 Cheapest that I've found.I booked a convertible in maui, to be picked up at OGG at 9PM on 8/11, and to be returned at OGG at 8PM on 8/16.After taxes, the total cost of everything was $279.90.I used the PRICELINE link from this website and im very happy!___Also, has anyone had any luck finding cheap convertibles in Honolulu? If we are staying on Waikiki beach, do we need a car? Thanks so much!
thereuare Posted June 24, 2009 Report Posted June 24, 2009 Welcome to BetterBidding!Congratulations on your success! Can you please add a reply to this thread with the car company that accepted your PRICELINE bid so we can add this information to the topic title.Car inventory has dried up on Oahu making rates more expensive than previous years... whether or not you need a car will depend upon how long you'll be visiting and what you intend to do while there. If you intend to stay in Waikiki itself then you don't need a car (but will need to weigh the cost of renting a car + parking vs. an expensive taxi ride from the airport as the two are not that close to each other). Also, if you're there for any length of time you may want to head to the North Shore or a different beach (we loved Lanakai Beach) and perhaps make trips to wal-mart for souveniers and/or snacks, the chain souvenier store whose name escapes me right now, or for a nice dinner out of the immediate area (we had a great meal at Roy's)... although an option is to just rent locally for the day, which saves on parking costs, but also leaves you with the issue of getting to/from the airport. If you decide to rent a car please start a NEW TOPIC for that rental and include your dates.Thank you for sharing your win with the board and using our PRICELINE link to begin your bidding.Have a great trip.
