mchouse Posted June 24, 2009 Report Posted June 24, 2009 I just learned about this forum from a friend. This is a much better forum, Sorry I didnt use your link but I will be sure to do so on future bids. These are my results so far for a family vacation to Colorado.3.5*Antlers Hilton,7-18 1 night Colorado Springs $44, 2.5*Springhill Suites, Longmont $40 7-19 1 night and 3* Holiday Inn ,Frisco 1 night 7-20 $42.. I used a combination of free rebid and waiting the 24 hours, It probably took me a little over a week to get these results but it was worth it.

trukyram Posted July 7, 2009 Report Posted July 7, 2009 The hotel website says they charge $11 per day for parking. :) Is that common with a 3.5 star hotel? AAA gives it a 4 star rating. Also, I just wanted to clarify if you bid north or south. It looks further south on the map.

Its a south zone hotel .. yes, that is very typical for 3-4* hotels, especially downtown locations, the way I look at it I just got a 3.5* for $44 per night I'm not going to complain about the parking fee...
mchouse Posted July 25, 2009 Author Report Posted July 25, 2009 Just returned from my trip, Definitly got pricelined at Antlers in Colorado springs, called 1 month in advance and requested 3 king rooms, spoke to "Jerry" and he confirmed 3 king rooms, He didnt explain to me that all I could do was request the king rooms. When I arrived Priceline was mentioned and was told by the lady at the front desk that the only rooms available were 1 queen bed rooms ,I told her that I had requested 3 king rooms and spoke to Jerry and she told me that Jerry didnt work there, rooms were very small , the bathroom door hit the toilet in the bathroom and wouldnt open all the way. Ive had nicer rooms at a 2 star hotel !!! On the plus side , free internet in your room and didnt get charged for parking ..Was it worth $44 ? yes , you cant stay at a Motel 6 for that price .... Just be wary when you are bidding on 3.5* in South Colorado Springs zone you will probably get the Antlers and they will definitly "Priceline" you... Also noticed when checking in to the other 2 properties that I used Priceline on that the Hotels reservation system will automatically put you in the the least desirable room, example :2 doubles smoking etc... You have to request the rooms that you want ... Last year on my vacation the front desk usually asked me first what room I would like before I had to say anything... Also Priceline was mentioned at each property I stayed , but I didnt experience any hostility except Antlers...
