TheBox Posted June 20, 2009 Report Posted June 20, 2009 Hello everyone,I have been reading and reading and am ready to try to secure a place in Vegas for next week.General info that may be of use here about my stay. June 26th-June 30th. Here to celebrate my birthday (June 27th) AND my son's high school graduation. (I realllllly hope the $20 trick will come in handy and work for me here.)First, I am aware that it is not possible to completely exclude The Trump from my chances of winning. With that in mind, I would still like to give preference to the resorts on the Strip itself. As listed below in order of preference for 5* would be :NORTH5* Venetian 5* Palazzo 5* Trump International (Trump being the... "if I do, I do, if I don't, I don't" type scenario.)SOUTH5* TheHotel at Mandalay BayThe secondary choices of 4* (North and South) would be :4* Treasure Island 4* Planet Hollywood 4* Luxor4* NYNYOn a side note, I don't see Mandalay Bay, Paris or Ceasars Palace (my first choice of all) listed anywhere. So onto the bidding strategy that I am thinking of following.(I did a cut and paste from a previous thread and just changed the options)PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF I AM THINKING ON THE RIGHT TRACK HERE OR WHAT I SHOULD CHANGE / DO DIFFERENTSelect 5* Strip North...Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $95, if rejected close browser and use our link to re-access PRICELINESelect 5* Strip South...Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $105, if rejected close browser and use our link to re-access PRICELINESelect 5* Strip North and re-bid zone2...Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $115, if rejected close browser and use our link to re-access PRICELINESelect 5* Strip North and re-bid zone2...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $125, if rejected close browser and use our link to re-access PRICELINEI would like to stay around $100 for a 5* with $120 being my max. If not possible then I would consider 4* within the same prices.Thank you in advance for taking time to reply and having such a wonderful for people to use.
TheBox Posted June 23, 2009 Author Report Posted June 23, 2009 Not very happy though. I used SOUTH as a last resort and got this. I don't know how they can advertise it as "on the Strip".
AaronJB Posted June 23, 2009 Report Posted June 23, 2009 Sorry to hear that you are disappointed with the results, but this does at least look like a good deal for the hotel.Thank you for reporting your win and please use the site's HOTWIRE and PRICELINE links to start future purchases.Enjoy your stay.
