Hotwire Hotel: 3.5* San Franscisco (USE) Sir Francis Drake

I am having the hardest time finding something less than $80 for Aug. 12-15. I started at $60 for USE. Each failed bid I would add USW then Financial Dist. I've gone up $5 increments each day til yesterday. Today I did $78 for those three bids because I saw Hotwire have a 3* for $78.

Is there some major event going on in SF those dates and everything is booked up?

I'm a little surprised nothing was accepted, as HOTWIRE is showing 4*'s in USE/USW for $99, and HOTWIRE has a 3.5* in USE (fitness, business, internet; a likely match for the Sir Francis Drake) for $78.

Are any of the HOTWIRE offerings of interest?

After a week of relentless bidding on Priceline, I couldn't manage a better deal than this on Hotwire. A little higher than I wanted to go, but it should be a nice spot.

Of course I used the HOTWIRE link.
