Babble Posted June 22, 2009 Report Posted June 22, 2009 I have attempted bidding for the Parker Meridien for six nights at the end of July. Once for $120 and once for $130. I will attempt again tomorrow however I was wondering if the number of nights is ever an issue. Is it harder to get accepted for that many nights. From reviewing other sites, it appears they have plenty of availability. Thanks.
thereuare Posted June 23, 2009 Report Posted June 23, 2009 Welcome to BetterBidding!First, a reminder (and for any newbies following along) that you're bidding on a specific hotel... you could receive any hotel in the zone at the star level (or higher) that you select.Longer nites can cause a little more difficulty, but not always, it usually more of a question of rates during the date range. What are the actual dates of your stay? What are rates at the Le Meridien? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. Babble Posted June 24, 2009 Author Report Posted June 24, 2009 I'm looking to reserve rooms from 7/23 - 7/29. I just looked up rates on their website and for those nights, it's $224 (taxes etc. not included). Thanks for your help.
thereuare Posted June 24, 2009 Report Posted June 24, 2009 Are you ok with receiving any 4* hotel in the CPS zone... not just the Parker Le Meridien? Is this the only zone you're bidding?Based upon the $224/nite rate, how high are you willing to bid for a 4* hotel in this zone? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. Babble Posted June 24, 2009 Author Report Posted June 24, 2009 I only want a 4* in CPS. I would be happy with a different hotel however I'm afraid to go much too high because I might get another hotel not as nice. Considering the Parker Meridien is only $224, not sure it is worth risking. I haven't seen any other recent wins for 4* CPS except for the Parker Meridien - so I guess I just assumed that would be the one I would get. I have gone so high as $175 and been declined. This is a fair amount higher than anyone else has reported on the site. Any advice? Have you seen other wins in that area or do you think I should just bid higher? Is there any chance the prices will go down if I wait longer. Thanks.
thereuare Posted June 25, 2009 Report Posted June 25, 2009 You can see all hotels reported to the board in this zone in the Priceline Hotel ListAs to whether rates will go up or down, nobody can say, but for a further discussion see the 'book early or late' link in our PRICELINE FAQ.You could also book this thru Orbitz which is offering the same $224/nite rate, but use coupon code deal0hotel for 10% off, which would bring you in at just about $200/nite. Does this work well for your needs? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.
