Thanks to TravelGuy for your great post on Sept 3rd to KatiesMom. We saw 4* going for over $100 in the most recent post to the White House/Dntwn area, so thought $90 was very reasonable. Other online booking sites started at $299 per night. :) Thanks to all for the helpful tips!!!

TravelGuy Posted October 16, 2004 Report Posted October 16, 2004 Wow, you got an excellent deal on a really nice place! This Frommer's review sums it up perfectly. Personally, I'd rather stay there than the Omni.It should probably be starting to get a little nippy in the evenings around the dates of your stay, and I would highly recommend stopping into the the Tabard Inn for a drink. Their Victorian style lounge has a large fireplace, oozes character, and is one of the very best places to enjoy a drink in Washington. It's just a short walk up from the Mayflower - take Connecticut Ave. toward Dupont Circle; take a right when you hit N St.
BLee Posted November 12, 2004 Author Report Posted November 12, 2004 Recently returned from our stay at the Renaissance Mayflower. We were very pleased with the hotel. Hotel is located within 3 blocks of two metro stations (Red, Blue/Orange lines), and there are several great restaurants within walking distance.Important note: When we first checked in, we were given a nice but very small room. However, we went back to the desk and the room was immediately changed...no questions asked. We enjoyed our stay there...service was excellent and hotel definitely rates 4*.
