dinovo Posted June 21, 2009 Report Posted June 21, 2009 We are planning a trip to Orlando on the dates 21 december-3 january 2010. I have been checking hotwire and priceline for some time now, but have not booked anything yet. I was wondering when it might be the best time to book for these dates - meaning is it lightly that the prices would go up from now on and ntil december or will they stay the same (i understand it would only be speculation, but based on previous years?)We would like to live in Radisson Orlando Celebration, but they dont show on the mentioned dates - could they perhaps show up later, or how does it work?Hope i am not asking any redundant questions - have been checking the forums for some time now :-)/Dinovo
AaronJB Posted June 21, 2009 Report Posted June 21, 2009 Welcome to the site. :)The best time to book is when you have your dates confirmed. In terms of PRICELINE and HOTWIRE, there is no guarantee that a deal there today will be there tomorrow, or that prices will not rise. While some wait to see if prices will come down for their trips, that's making a bet - and while some people successfully "wait out" lower prices, many wake up one morning to find a HOTWIRE deal (for example) suddenly gone or the price jumped and there's nothing they can really do.In terms of Orlando, given how inexpensive many of the hotels have been offering discount rates, I have to imagine many of them can't go too much lower, given that they want to maintain profit margins and REVPAR (revenue per available room.) Hotels do not always appear on HOTWIRE and can go days, weeks or months without doing so. Both PRICELINE and HOTWIRE are not good choices for getting a particular hotel, they are excellent choices for getting *a* hotel cheap. What is your budget per night, and are there HOTWIRE listings that appeal to you for these dates? Please use the site's HOTWIRE and PRICELINE links.
dinovo Posted June 21, 2009 Author Report Posted June 21, 2009 We have been to Orlando 3 times earlier and always stayed at the Radisson Celebration in Kissimmee and also found it to fit our needs and a great price. I am aware that there are no gurantees on what hotel you get through hotwire, but you can calculate it pretty good with help from this site :-)Our budget is around 60-80$ pr night pr room, minimum of 3 stars, pool and a resort like feeling (if that makes any sence). I have looked at 2 3,5* condos listed in the Disney Main gate area for around 65$ each pr night for the period listed and i think that it is either the Holiday Inn Club or the Tuscane (i think it was called). But i am unsure of what kind of rooms you could except - HoliDay Inn for example have a lot of different rooms/villas at that location, but of coruse this is not revealed on hotwire.

thereuare Posted June 22, 2009 Report Posted June 22, 2009 The I-Drive South property is a match for the Wesstgate Lakes so that would be my best guess for that one.The Celebration property has not yet been identified. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help.
