Rhine-and-Roses Posted June 21, 2009 Report Posted June 21, 2009 We were looking for an overnight in Frankfurt for the 26th of June. I was on Hotwire and selected 2 adults. A five star hotel came up for $133. I realized I needed to add a child, so changed my booking to reflect two adults, one child and a new five star hotel came up for $115! The second one, by the way, was the one I would have preferred to stay at, guessing which hotel it was by a previous booking I had done there through Hotwire. So what is the deal here? I thought Hotwire was supposed to offer the best price in each star category the first time. Yet adding people, I got a better price on a 5*? ! ?
AaronJB Posted June 21, 2009 Report Posted June 21, 2009 May be an issue of the 5* offering quad occupancy (2 bed) rooms only. There are definitely instances in most cities of certain hotels that more commonly appear when one searches for more than 2 (the Embassy Suites properties in Chicago, for example.)
