Boston Traveler Posted June 19, 2009 Report Posted June 19, 2009 Started Bidding at 60 for Montreal. Then went about adding zones with no four star hotels to put in new bids. Added Dorval Airport Area (YUL) at 65. Then added Longueuil , another zone 70, + Laval at 72, Pointe Claire 75, Added more days at 75 again. I think I boxed my self out by not trying to play around with dates before playing with zones since once I added a zone I could not deselect it. I tried calling the hotel and telling them that the lowest offer being accepted was $70 a night and offered to book directly with them. On the Montreal Maps it showed someone who bid a few months back got that rate for the same time: http://www.betterbidding.com/index.php?aut...p;kw2=omni&The best he would offer was 190 so I told him thank you anyway and I would book via priceline.Next I switched to a different card and made the reservations under one of my fellow travelers names to start over. Tried 06/19/2009 -06/22/2009 Montreal for $80. It offered me a free rebid to add $22. Ignored that and added a zone and put in for $85 with success. Not bad for bidding the day before departure. I have the urge to call back reservations and confirm my stay :)
