kimfromCali Posted June 18, 2009 Report Posted June 18, 2009 I would like to get a 3.5* room in the Fisherman's Wharf zone for July 10-12, 2009 for $100 or less. I would be willing to go to 3* if necessary to keep the price under 100.Can you please give me an outline to get the most bids using the re-bid zone method. Thanks,Kim
AaronJB Posted June 18, 2009 Report Posted June 18, 2009 Board moderator thereuare will be back tomorrow night and can better suggest a detailed bidding strategy. However, given the rates that I'm seeing, I'm guessing it will take $80-85 (first $80, if $80 is not accepted, then try $85) for a 3.5* on these dates in this area. I'd be surprised if you had to go to $100. On HOTWIRE, there's a 3* in Fisherman's Wharf in your budget range, and 2 4*'s (one in USW, one in USE) for $99 a piece for your dates. Please use the site's PRICELINE link to start your bidding.
kimfromCali Posted June 19, 2009 Author Report Posted June 19, 2009 I decided to give it a go by myself, based on advice from thereuare for a NYC bid I made recently. I am happy to report I was able to get a 3* room at the Wharf for $68! I used the link for Priceline from here. I will post the results under a new topic. Thanks!KimBoard moderator thereuare will be back tomorrow night and can better suggest a detailed bidding strategy. kimfromCali Posted June 19, 2009 Author Report Posted June 19, 2009 Bid $65 for 3* at Fisherman's Wharf zone. Was offered a second chance if I would increase by $17. I declined and went back and used a re-bid zone (Marina), bid $68 and was successful!
AaronJB Posted June 19, 2009 Report Posted June 19, 2009 Congratulations on your success!Very, very reasonable rate for this property during this time of year, and nice job re-bidding.Thank you for sharing your win with the board and using the site's PRICELINE linkEnjoy your stay.
