vixen Posted June 18, 2009 Report Posted June 18, 2009 Hello,New to the board and very excited to find it! I am looking to book a resort or 4* on the beach in either Fort Lauderdale area or Miami area. We really want to make sure and be beachfront. Our dates are July 8 - 13th. Interested in spending $125 / night or less. Any help would be greatly appreciated!Great site!VVixen
AaronJB Posted June 18, 2009 Report Posted June 18, 2009 Welcome to the site. PRICELINE doesn't guarantee beachfront. Out of the two, Fort Lauderdale's certainly the cheaper of the two options on these dates.HOTWIRE has a 4* in the Fort Lauderdale Beach area with the amenities Resort, Oceanfront, Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Smoke Free, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Laundry, Tennis, Childrens Activities (some of those are only visible if you click "continue" and then "see all amenities" for $88, which would be a likely match for the Westin Beach Resort. There's plenty of options for these dates, both on HOTWIRE and regular rate - Orbitz.com has a number of properties on sale within your budget range, and coupon code deal0hotel gets 10% off each night. Please use the site's HOTWIRE or Orbitz.com links to start your purchase.
vixen Posted June 19, 2009 Author Report Posted June 19, 2009 Thanks for the info! We are going to try and bid on priceline. I'll post on the board what we get and how much. I will also use the PRICELINE link. Thanks again and any other help or advice would be greatly appreciated!VVixen
thereuare Posted June 21, 2009 Report Posted June 21, 2009 Are you ready to bid now? Which zones are you willing to accept? What is your maximum bid? Are you willing to pay more for a Resort vs. a 4* OR is your goal the least expensive 4* or better for this stay? Thanks for using our PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your bidding. vixen Posted June 24, 2009 Author Report Posted June 24, 2009 I am ready to bid now.. I have been checking the site and educating myself on the best available from both hotwire and priceline. I don't want to make a rookie mistake and get a property that is not on the beach. Of course I would like to get the nicest hotel for the least amount of money. :) I am willing to bid upto $100- $125 per night. We are flying into Fort Lauderdale Airport, so I don't mind driving to a great resort or hotel in the area. Of course we would love something centrally located, but I am more concerned with it being on the beach and not across the street or nearby a beach. Thanks again for everyone's help!
thereuare Posted June 24, 2009 Report Posted June 24, 2009 I think the only way you can ensure a hotel directly on the Beach is thru HOTWIRE and choosing a hotel that shows a Beachfront icon... i would think a Resort in either zone would likely be on the beach, but if you received one nearby or across the street from the beach i don't think you'd have too much of a case to argue. If you search HOTWIRE for your date and region(s) above do you see anything that meets your star rating and budget criteria and a beachfront icon? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.
