I made a huge mistake in my bidding. I was bidding in $5 increments from $100 to $115. When I went to bid $120, I accidentally bid $200. This was accepted.

Do I have any hope of getting PRICELINE to refund this since it was clearly a mistake? Any suggestions?

Thank you for your reply. I understand the policy. I also understand that this was my fault. I did not pay attention on the confirmation page and see that I had made a mistake on my bidding. I don't blame Priceline for this. I'm just hoping you have some suggestions for dealing with them in resolving this.

I was bidding for a stay in New York July 17th-21st. I was bidding on a couple mid-town zones starting at $100/night. I was adding a re-bid zone and accidentally increased by bid to $200/night. I won the Royalton, which looks like a nice property, but I did not intend on paying $200/night.

Thanks.

Thanks for sharing the details of your purchase.

You can call PRICELINE and explain the situation to them, and even reference your bidding history (pointing out that you were bidding in $x increments and wouldn't have increased by $xx), but given that $200 isn't out of the norm for a NYC hotel (as evenidenced by this still being a good deal vs. the hotels' hotel direct rate of $252/nite for these nites) it may be a tougher than say if you won a hotel where the normal rates were only ~$100.

Good luck and let us konw how it goes.

Thanks for the suggestions. I tried that. It didn't work. They just kept saying that I agreed to the contract and there are no refunds or cancellations.

It's especially upsetting since someone else on here recently got the Royalton for $130/night.

Oh well, I guess that will teach me to pay closer attention to the confirmation page.

Any other suggestions?

Sorry to hear that you weren't successful. I don't know what else can be done; as was mentioned, the regular rate is $252, so this is still under regular rate.

Unfortunately, i highly doubt PRICELINE will do anything about your mistake. However, do let this be a lesson learned and to double check your amount before you Submit your request. I made a similar mistake once bidding in nyc- i added the Upper West Side and mistook it for the upper east side, which would have been a free rebid zone and got a hotel there- i did NOT want a hotel in the UWS. Priceline won't do anything about mistakes. Pay full attention when you do your bidding, when i made that mistake i was doing something else on the same time, i think i was talking on the phone so i did not have my full attention to the computer.
