Jed3 Posted June 14, 2009 Report Posted June 14, 2009 We stayed here one night. The hotel is on 28th St near 6th Ave, on a block which has much scaffolding and unattractive store fronts. The hotel itself had a small nice lobby. The room we had had about 200 sq ft, and a small bathroom with the usual small bottles and good towels. It was clean, and the furniture and rugs were presentable. The beds had the new soft fluffy tops. The staff was pleasant and accommodating, giving us the 2 double beds we had requested. The extra blankets we called down for were brought up in a short time. We did not eat there. In all, a reasonable hotel for a short stay.
jezziebezzie Posted August 18, 2011 Report Posted August 18, 2011 My husband & I stayed here for 3 nights in November 2010. It was my first trip to NYC, but I'm a very well seasoned (and picky) traveller. I really liked the neighbourhood...Chelsea is the flower market district. There is no nightlife, there isn't anything going on. Everything there rolls up at about 6pm and closes up. The previous reviewer is correct - there isn't much to look at. But what that gives you is a lovely and QUIET oasis to go back to sleep at the end of the day.I found the staff to be friendly. The hotel & room were very clean. The room was small, but bigger than I expected for a more newly renovated space in NYC. Our King bed was comfy & the room was well appointed and we had what we needed.I have a disability and typically sleep in a recliner at home. I had to use many pillows to prop myself up & they were very accommodating in bringing me 6 extra pillows for this purpose. The hotel is only about a $7 cab right from the heart of Times Square, so we were easily exactly where we wanted to be, but away from the hustle and bustle at the end of the day. We didn't eat there other than raiding the pantry store for snack food. They arranged for us to take a limo back to JFK that cost us only $5 more than the cab that brought us in. I'm actually surprised to see this hotel rating only 2.5 stars. I would definitely recommend it to others and I will definitely stay there again on my next trip.J
