First bid for NYC (MTW) 2 rooms @ $110 was rejected

Rebid with NYC (MTW, CPS) 2 rooms @ $120 accepted by Sheraton New York Hotel and Towers.

Totals $1,200.

Tax & service fees: $235.92

Ttl charges: $1,435.92

I'm traveling with family of 2 adults, 2 16-yrs old females and 1 12-yr old male.

While I would have preferred another, this hotel generally got good reviews on Trip Advisor. Seems as if folks think the small rooms are problematic, but location is a plus with proximity to subway, theatre (for Musical Theatre students), and shopping.

We'll see when we arrive.

With your group, near your hotel, you may want to try:

Carmine's (44th b/w 7th Ave and 8th Ave)- family style italian, not the most gourmet food but 'solid' italian and always fun with a group. Go at an off-hour as they get PACKED every nite of the week, especially pre-theatre

John's Pizza (44th b/w 7th Ave and 8th Ave)- good pizza in a converted church so a very nice atmosphere, open kitchen pizza stations so you can watch them make pizza while you wait for your own.

And if you're "daring" be a NYer and wait online for a

(or Combo chicken and lamb) platter at the SW corner of 53rd and Sixth Ave (7:30pm-4am)... pile on the white sauce and just a dab of the hot sauce... hmmm! (at least go t be amazed at the line at most hours of the nite)
