sfo Posted June 12, 2009 Report Posted June 12, 2009 When Hotwire advertises a discount such as 17% off or 20% off, what is this off of? The highest rate the particular hotel is offerring, the lowest rate or somewhere in between? I think it is pretty ambiguous to say the least as one has nothing to compare it to. At least with Priceline, they give a price for the hotels they are describing and then one can go and compare Pricelines price with the lowest hotel price and then make a decision on what to bid.
thereuare Posted June 13, 2009 Report Posted June 13, 2009 The information you're refering to that is provided by PRICELINE is meaningless and shouldn't be used to determine any part of a bidding strategy... the similar information provided by HOTWIRE is just as useless, but as there is no bidding on HOTWIRE and you're told the price, i'm not really sure what your issue is.Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.
