kimfromCali Posted June 9, 2009 Report Posted June 9, 2009 I would like some assistance on how to get the maximum number of bids per 24 hours. Would like to win a 4* but would settle for a 3.5* in any of the following zones (in the order of preference): Times Square; Midtown West; Midtown East; Central Park South for $200 or less. Thanks,Kim
thereuare Posted June 10, 2009 Report Posted June 10, 2009 Welcome to BetterBidding!Did you want to try for a 4* hotel first up to your maximum $200 bid?Is price more important than zone? (ie- you'd prefer the least expensive 4* hotel in any of the zones above OR are you willing to pay more for a hotel in Times Square than a hotel in say MTE?)Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know the above and we'll advise accordingly. kimfromCali Posted June 11, 2009 Author Report Posted June 11, 2009 Thank you. Price is more important than zone.
thereuare Posted June 11, 2009 Report Posted June 11, 2009 Times Square; Midtown West; Midtown East; Central Park South At the 4* level you have FIVE re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 4* MTE and MTW...Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $115, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $130, if rejected clsoe browser and use our link to re-access PRICELINESelect 4* TS and CPS...Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $115, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $130, if rejected clsoe browser and use our link to re-access PRICELINESelect 4* MTE and TS...Bid $135, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $140, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $145, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $150, if rejected clsoe browser and use our link to re-access PRICELINESelect 4* MTW and CPS...Bid $135, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $140, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $145, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $150, if rejected clsoe browser and use our link to re-access PRICELINESelect 4* MTE and MTW and TS...Bid $155, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $160, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $165, if rejected clsoe browser and use our link to re-access PRICELINESelect 4* MTE and MTW and CPS...Bid $155, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $160, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $165, if rejected clsoe browser and use our link to re-access PRICELINESelect 4* MTE and MTW and TS and CPS...Bid $170, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $175, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $180, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $185, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $190, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $195Any questions feel free to ask.If you're not in a hurry to 'get this done' you might want to consider stoping at $160-$165 or so... whle that may not be enough for these dates at the moment, there is enough weakness in the NYC hotel market that i wouldn't chase this one (but if you're the type that likes to have all their plans confirmed as soon as possible as it enables you t relax and sleep easier at nite, then we've sugegsted a strategy up to $195/nite)Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes. kimfromCali Posted June 11, 2009 Author Report Posted June 11, 2009 Wow! Thanks for the quick and detailed response. It seems like last time I used PL it required me to change 2 things about the bid, i.e., a new zone AND a new star level. Am I just remembering that wrong? Because if that's the case, how can I just re-bid by adding a new zone and up'ing the price and not changing anything else? Can't wait to try this strategy.Kimberly
thereuare Posted June 12, 2009 Report Posted June 12, 2009 To bid again immediately you only have to change one thing about the bid (other than the price). The above strategy should work fine and allow you to bid thru the complete cycle in the same bidding session. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know hwo it goes.
