Hotwire Hotel: 3.5* Boston (Back Bay-Copley Square) Sheraton

Hi,

Just booked the Sheraton Back Bay on HOTWIRE for $89. While I am pleased with the hotel and the rate, I called them immediately to request a Queen or King bed and they said they could only give me a room with two double beds. Now, i know this is a big hotel and they must have rooms with one bed available. Anyone have any experience in dealing with this issue? Any suggestions on how to get them to give me one?!

Thank you for sharing your results with the board. Can you please add a reply to this thread with the amenities shown before your purchase... you can still view this information by going to HOTWIRE and clicking the MY ACCOUNT link near the top right of their home page.

In regards to your stay, there's nothing you can do to 'force' them to give you a room with one bed, but as you point out, it's a large hotel and you may have just received somebody on the phone who didn't feel like working and entering the request (or maybe was very busy at work at the time with guests in front of him waiting to be serviced, and the easiest thing to do was to tell you it couldn't be done)

Most of the time the hotel just doesn't want to commit to a room type on a deeply discounted booking as it just makes managing their room inventory more difficult as check-in date approaches. I'd just ask again nicely at check-in and see how it goes (if traveling with a spouse jokingly tell them it's your anniversary and it sleeping in separate beds, which you haven't done in 'x years', isn't the way you were intending to celebrate it)
