mroy Posted June 12, 2009 Report Posted June 12, 2009 I've bid $65, $70, $75, $80, $87 with no luck. The jazz festival is on at this time plus Canada day and Independence day long-weekends so I'm not entirely surprised. Any other suggestions?
mroy Posted June 12, 2009 Author Report Posted June 12, 2009 Tried some different dates too $95 for one night (July 4 to 5) - didn't workI then checked the availability at the Hyatt on their own web site - there were no rooms available between july 2 to july 6 (although there was some between july 3 to july 6).Finally 'succeeded' at $105 for July 3 to July 6 at the Marriott Chateau Champlain. Extended it to start at July 2.Clearly I am new to this and made some mistakes.Live and learn I suppose. I did use the PRICELINE link originally so hope you got credit.

mroy Posted June 12, 2009 Author Report Posted June 12, 2009 Any suggestions or thoughts on what I could have done better? It's a good hotel - i've used it for work in the past. The Hyatt Regency was just right next to the Place Des Arts which is Jazz Fest Central. I guess they might not have posted their inventory to Priceline yet?

mroy Posted June 15, 2009 Author Report Posted June 15, 2009 Do you recall your bidding history just for the 7/3-7/6 dates?I went from $95 July 4/5 to $105 July 3 - 6.I have to get another room for a family member for July 4/5. let's see what happens.
thereuare Posted June 15, 2009 Report Posted June 15, 2009 You may have done better starting lower for the new set of dates, since it's possible (i didn't check) that July 4/5 is a difficult and expensive nite, so adding the other nites could have brought down the average rate for the complete stay, thus making a lower bid necessary, instead of higher.Feel free to ask for help before bidding for your next trip. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.
