Decided to bite the bullet and use the PRICELINE link from here and booked my first hotel room!!!Wanted to get a good 3* hotel on or near Fort Lauderdale Beach for a good price and I think I succeeded :) I first picked just the (#5) Fort Lauderdale Beach zone and place a bid for $44.....didn't get any hits. I then had to add (#4) Fort Lauderdale Airport zone and upped my bid to 48....still no luck. Then I added the (#2) Downtown Fort Lauderdale zone and bumped up my bid to $55 and BINGO!!!! :)This is going to be great!! I'll be on my first ever cruise from Monday 15th thru Friday 19th and my first Hotel (booked by myself w/ my girlfriend)!Thanks for this awesome website and keep on keepin' on ya'll!!!BTW I have a question for everyone. I'm looking to use the Broward County Transit AKA buses and hopefully the Sun Trolleys that go by on Las Olas Blvd to get to and from the beach. Does anyone know if they are clean and safe? and if downtown Fort Lauderdale is pretty safe? It'll be just me (27yo male) and my 24yo girlfriend. Thanks again!

I'm not familiar with the busses/trolleys in this area but i've generally found city owned bus service to be very safe... best bet is to ask the conceirge or front desk staff at the hotel if it's safe (as well as alterative transportation if its' not).
