ucsf_med Posted October 12, 2004 Report Posted October 12, 2004 I have been trying to win 1 night on 10/23 in Monterey, CA. Previous wins were at $60, I've been trying for the past week and haven't won anything up through $62 for a 3*. Wish me luck, any suggestions?
thereuare Posted October 12, 2004 Report Posted October 12, 2004 What star level are you bidding? Rates for your date at the 3* properties are much higher than when we have seen acceptances in the $60's.Do you have a back-up reservation? If not successful at these levels do you see yourself staying in a different area, raising your bid to whatever it takes, or lowering your star quality. ucsf_med Posted October 16, 2004 Author Report Posted October 16, 2004 hmmm... I can't edit my original message?Just tried again.Monterey 3* Pacific Grove for $60. Rejected, counter offer of $17 more.Rebid adding Monterey 3* Seaside for $62. Accepted by Hyatt Regency Monterey, Pacific Grove.Kinda disappointed it isn't located closer to the water, and that I couldn't get better than $62...
thereuare Posted October 16, 2004 Report Posted October 16, 2004 You have about an hour to edit your posts... after that just add a reply as you did. This keeps the continuity of the board and posts don't get edited after others have already replied to them. Thanks for sharing your win. With the best rate at Hyatt's website $289/nite i think you did more than alright. So this is the same bid that had failed on prior attempts? When you re-bid, why did you choose to add a 'live' zone.... adding Carmel Valley would have been a 'true' re-bid as the highest rated hotel in that area is currently 2 stars.Try to enjoy your stay.
