Jojofi Posted June 11, 2009 Report Posted June 11, 2009 Tried to bid 4* hotel from Nyc MTE, ESB or TS. My maximum bid is $125. No luck so far.Is some of this areas more expensive than other? Now started MTE,ESB and TS $100 up to $125 using 5 free-bid zones.Should I change my strategy?
AaronJB Posted June 11, 2009 Report Posted June 11, 2009 Prices are quite high on these dates, and based upon what's showing on HOTWIRE and regular rate sites, it doesn't seem as if $125 is going to be realistic for a 4*.What is your max budget per night? Please use the site's PRICELINE or HOTWIRE links.
Jojofi Posted June 11, 2009 Author Report Posted June 11, 2009 OK, maximum bid would be then $140+taxThinking also 3-3,5* hotels, but then max bid $125
thereuare Posted June 11, 2009 Report Posted June 11, 2009 Did you want to try for a 4* up to your limit first, then lower the star rating if rejected OR are you looking for the least expensive 3.5* (or 3*?) or better for this stay?Let us know the above and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. Jojofi Posted June 12, 2009 Author Report Posted June 12, 2009 HiNot sure what is best way..Maybe first like to try 4* hotels (MTE,ESB,TS) up to 140$ and then 3,5* (first ESB,Madison S.,TS ) up to 125$. Not sure about MTE area 3,5* because of Tudor UN.
thereuare Posted June 12, 2009 Report Posted June 12, 2009 So let's take it one step at a time...If you want to first try for a 4* hotel up to $140 in the MTE, ESB, or TS zones, i would bid as follows using your FIVE re-bid zones.Select 4* MTE and ESB...Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $115, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $125, if rejected close browser and use our link to re-access PRICELINESelect 4* TS CPS...Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $115, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $125, if rejected close browser and use our link to re-access PRICELINESelect 4* MTE, ESB and TS...Bid $128, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $130, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $133, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $135, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $138, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $140Any questions feel free to ask. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes.PS- is there a reason you're avoiding the CPS zone? Jojofi Posted June 13, 2009 Author Report Posted June 13, 2009 I follow up your strategy, but use TS not CPS 4* $110-140. No luck this time. I try to avoid CPS because of Le Parker Meridien. Was there earlier and would like to go another hotel this time. CPS is also ok, if not succes another.Could you give me strategy also for 3,5* ESB, Madison S, Times S. (MTE last option) up to $125. Thank youAlways use your link to PRICELINE and HOTWIRE
thereuare Posted June 13, 2009 Report Posted June 13, 2009 Sorry, the CPS was a typo on my part, should have been TS.For the 3.5* strategy, did you want to include MTE in your bidding at the onset, or try for ESB, MSG, and TS up to your limit, then if rejected, star over and include the MTE zone?Let us know and we'll advise accordingly. Thanks for using our PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links for your bidding. Jojofi Posted June 15, 2009 Author Report Posted June 15, 2009 I would like to try first ESB, MSG, TS up to $125. If rejected could include MTE zone.
thereuare Posted June 15, 2009 Report Posted June 15, 2009 At the 3.5* level you have THREE re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 3.5* MSG and TS...Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $95, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $105, if rejected close browser and use our link to re-access PRICELINESelect 3.5* ESB...Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $95, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $105, if rejected close browser and use our link to re-access PRICELINESelect 3.5* MSG and TS and ESB...Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $115, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $125Any questions feel free to ask. If the above is rejected (i'm thinking likely) post back and we'll revise to include MTE, if that's the next approach you'd like to take. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes. Jojofi Posted October 3, 2009 Author Report Posted October 3, 2009 Just come back from NYC and Affinia Manhattan. First we got very small room (quest room) where was no kitchen. We were very supriced of this ugly room after reading all good comments from tripadvisor. Room was very tiny, dark, small window with no view. I must to say, room was horrible! We spent one night in . Receptionist said this is normal Priceline room.. We asked upgrade us, first they want to have extra $100/night, we paid extra 30$/night standard room with kitchen, two nice beds. This room was very pleasent for longer stay.
AaronJB Posted October 3, 2009 Report Posted October 3, 2009 Sorry to hear that the initial room was disappointing, but glad to hear that you were able to work something out with the hotel.
