Hello

I am looking to book a hotel in downtown Chicago. I will be traveling with my wife and 2 children (11 & 2yrs) on Sept 5th and checking out on Sept 7th. We would like to see some different attractions such as the Sears Tower and Millenium Park. We are looking for a nice deal on hotel ($100-$140 range). Any advice on area where we should stay would be appreciated. Would like to find a hotel that doesn't have high parking fees if possible as this will be out of pocket expense. (Company paying for hotel) Not a problem if this is not possible but it would be a plus.

Welcome to BetterBidding!

Searching HOTWIRE for 2adults/2children they have a 4.5* property in the Mag Mile-Streeterville zone for $125 which is a match for the InterContinental so that would be our best guess, as it's well reviewed with a 4.0/5.0 Tripadvisor rating which you can read HERE.

There is also a 4* in the NMA-Water Tower-Gold Coast zone for $119/nite which i believe to be the W Chicago Lakeshore.

If budget is a concern (not likely if the company is picking us any 'reasonable' hotel tab) there is a $89/nite hotel in the Mag Mile-Streeterville zone, but this matches multiple properties and wont' be able to narrow the field down to less than 3-5 options.

Does the InterContinental or the W Lakeshore work for your needs? Let us know and we can provide further details.

A couple of notes:

I'd rather suggest the Hancock than the Sears Tower; less lines and easy to work into a Michigan Ave. shopping trip. There's not a whole lot to Millennium Park, and it's more something I suggest as a "pit stop" on the way to something else. As I've recommended in a few other threads in the last 24 hours, the Lincoln Park Zoo is a fantastic zoo (and free.) At the Hancock, there's also the option of going to the Signature Lounge (http://www.frommers.com/destinations/chicago/N20406.html) instead of paying for admission to go to the Observation Deck.

The $85 4* in the Mag Mile/Streeterville area seems like a very good deal to me for these dates. Otherwise, between the Intercontinental and W Lakeshore, I'd go with the Intercontinental, which is right on Michigan Ave.

Thank you both for the advice. The Intercontinental would suite us just fine. I will also makew it a plan to visit the zoo. I am also going to look into the Hancock building too. I will certainly book through the HOTWIRE link on this site.
