My gf and I are going to Chicago 7/15-7/17 for the first time. also using hotwire for the first time. been trying to figure which hotels these could be and just wanted to see if anyone knew.

Mag Mile

4* fitness, restaurant, business, internet, spa $89

4.5* fitness, restaurant, business, internet $124

Loop

4* fitness, pool, restaurant, business, internet $88

north Michigan

4* fitness, restaurant, business, internet $106

not really worried price wise because anything on here is cheaper than what was on other sites i had looked at. mostly concerned with location, which brings me to my next question. which area would be best for a twenty something couple. we really want to go out during the day and see sites wherever they may be but in the evening for dinner and drinks we dont want to go to far as the female will most likely be wearing heels.

Welcome to the site.

Given what you are looking to do, I'd say no to the Loop Hotel, as there's usually not much going on in the Loop later at night.

In terms of the Mag Mile area, the 4* is likely the Hyatt, the 4.5* likely the Intercontinental.

Personally, I'd suggest neither and instead go with the Amalfi, which is $119 (on sale, non-refundable) on Orbitz.com. However, if you use coupon code deal0hotel, you get 10% off = $107.10.

The Amalfi is a great, very well-reviewed (4.5/5 on tripadvisor) hotel in the River North area, which has a wide variety of restaurants and is an easy walk to Michigan Ave. It's a boutique that also offers free breakfast and evening reception.

Please use the site's Orbitz.com or HOTWIRE links.

We are looking to book at hotel in Chicago for our honeymoon in the $100-140 range. We like the idea of the James and want to be near the shopping, restaurants and nightlife. Is the James a good hotel? Any suggestions for finding a deal on July 6-10 2009? Is there another more lux hotel we should consider?
